Definition
An identifier for a resource that is globally unique, never reassigned or changed, and resolvable on the web to a description of the thing it names.
How we use the term
The firm's identifier rule: https, the business's own domain, a fragment naming what the node is, no trailing slash. An identifier is assigned the moment an entity matters, never reused and never changed when a name changes; a machine form of the page lets an agent fetch the facts without parsing the layout. The first condition of linked data, and the condition for any other record to point at a concept or an entity reliably.
