Definition
The structural design of information environments (websites, intranets, apps and knowledge bases): how content is organized, labelled, connected and navigated, so that people can find what they need and machines can understand what is there.
How we use the term
On a website it covers the page hierarchy, navigation, labelling and internal linking. It is the layer that entity architecture builds on: a site whose structure mirrors the business's real services, people and proof is one a machine can read correctly.
