System of Record

Definition

The system that holds the authoritative version of a given set of facts, to which other systems defer when versions disagree.

How we use the term

'Your public system of record' and 'a system of authority' are the plain-register handles (Sept 20 and 22 2026), lowercase and unmarked. The human page and the machine data are drawn from the one record, so neither can drift from the other or say what the other does not; the compiler enforces it (schema is never hand-written per page).
